A native Oregonian, Marty graduated from
Oregon State in 1977 and landed at Microsoft in
1984. He led the Public Relations and Event
Marketing teams for ten years and spent his last
five years as Director of Marketing and Brand
Strategy for a consumer and on-line product
group. His interest in wine began when his job
responsibilities required him to travel the media
capitals on the east and west coasts.
Marty has collected wines for 25 years, and
enjoys seeking out new vintners and wine styles.
He is an active angel investor and has served on
a number of non-profit boards. When not
hanging out at the winery, he enjoys traveling,
sharing great food and wine with friends and
family, live theater, jazz and progressive
music. He claims to be an avid golfer, reasonable
skier and respectable drummer.
Active in the Washington wine industry for more
than a decade, Chris spent the past seven years
helping make some of the state’s most heralded
and award-winning wines at DeLille Cellars.
Chris has traveled to and immersed himself in all
of the major winegrowing regions of France, as
well as Tuscany and Sicily. Tasting regional food
and wine, touring vineyards, and learning from
other winemakers has inspired his craft and
fueled his passion for using old world techniques
to create modern, expressive wines.
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Chris
graduated from the University of Washington
majoring in the Comparative History of Ideas. He
went on to become the first graduate of Walla
Walla Community College’s Enology and
Viticulture program, where he taught classes on
wines of the world with the late instructor and
industry pioneer Stan Clarke.
