For our taste, no one grows finer Syrah in WA than Dick Boushey. We make this wine with minimal manipulation, using native yeasts, bottling unfined and unfiltered, to allow the “place” to shine through. We named it after the Provencal Troubadour Arnaut Daniel, who invented the Sestina poem form, thus creating a connection between our two flagship efforts.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (94-97) pts - "A true blockbuster in the vintage...it boasts an inky purple color to go with spectacular notes of black olives, scorched earth, peppery meats & black currants. With medium to full-bodied richness, gorgeous concentration and a big finish, it tastes like the essence of Syrah from WA State. I love it!." - J Dunnuck
Winemaker Tasting Note— "Exotic nose of boysenberry and blueberry reduction, grilled meat, orange peel, and minerals on the nose. The palate is rich and round, very concentrated with mountain berry liqueur, savory meat notes, fresh ground Ethiopian coffee, and liquefied minerals. Put this in the cellar for 2-3 years, and it will be screaming for a long, long time." -Chris Peterson
