High Scores for the Avennia 2015 Vintage

Aerospace engineer turned wine writer, Jeb Dunnuck, has been a well-respected and independent positive voice for Washington wines for years. Our winemaker Chris Peterson first met Jeb back in the 2000s while at DeLille and they hit it off. Then shortly after Avennia's inaugural wine release in 2012, Jeb joined Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and reviewed our wines each year. As the most prolific wine writer for the Advocate from 2013 to 2017, Parker once described Jeb as a "younger version of himself". Year after year, his positive and enthusiastic reception of our wines has been encouraging.

Pig Roast with Ethan Stowell Restaurants

Winemaker of the Year!

Yesterday, the 12th Annual Seattle Magazine Washington Wine Awards were announced. Avennia's own Chris Peterson has been named Winemaker of the Year! Considered a high honor in our ever-growing WA wine community and judged by a panel of industry professionals, this title is "awarded to a winemaker who is known for the quality of his or her winemaking, contributions to the winemaking community, and for helping put Washington wines on the national stage." Congratulations, Chris!

97 points - Red Willow Cabernet Sauvignon - our highest score yet

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate recently published its annual comprehensive survey of Washington wines, authored by Jeb Dunnuck, and we are proud and humbled to announce that all ten wines we submitted from our 2014 vintage scored 92 points or higher. We are particularly thrilled that a few of our wines scored among the highest in the state!
